Low-density polyethylene (LDPE)
We distribute low-density polyethylene (LDPE / PEBD) for blown film, bags, shrink and agricultural film, coating and injection moulding, from Murcia to the whole of Spain.
Low-density polyethylene (LDPE, PEBD in Spanish), with a density of 0.910 to 0.930 g/cm³, is flexible, transparent and very easy to process. It is the classic film polyethylene.
It is used on its own or blended with LLDPE, which adds mechanical strength, while the LDPE contributes processability and gloss.
Types
- General-purpose film
- Bags, sacks, packaging film and agricultural film.
- Shrink and high-clarity film
- Grades with good optical properties for display and collation packaging.
- Coating and injection moulding
- Paper and board coating, and soft injection-moulded parts such as flexible lids.
How to choose the grade
For film, the melt flow index (190 °C / 2.16 kg) is usually between 0.3 and 2 g/10 min: the lower it is, the stronger the film; the higher it is, the easier to process and the better the gloss. Also look at the additives (slip and antiblock), depending on whether the bags are to be stacked or opened easily.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between LDPE and LLDPE?
LDPE is easier to process and more transparent; LLDPE has greater puncture, tear and tensile strength. In film they are often blended to get the best of both.
What is PEBD?
It is the Spanish acronym for low-density polyethylene (LDPE in English).
