High-density polyethylene (HDPE)
We distribute high-density polyethylene (HDPE / PEAD) for blow moulding of bottles and jerrycans, film, injection moulding and monofilament, from Murcia to the whole of Spain.
High-density polyethylene (HDPE, PEAD in Spanish) has a density of 0.941 g/cm³ or higher. It is rigid, highly resistant to impact and chemicals, and suitable for food contact in most grades.
Each process needs a different HDPE: a detergent jerrycan is not the same as a supermarket carrier bag or a fruit crate. Here you will find how to choose one and all the grades we distribute.
Types
- Blow moulding
- Bottles, jerrycans, drums and hollow bodies. Very low flow and high environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR), essential for detergent and chemical packaging.
- Film
- T-shirt bags, refuse sacks and high-strength thin film. High-molecular-weight grades that allow film thickness to be reduced.
- Injection moulding
- Crates, caps and closures, buckets and technical parts. Higher flow to fill the mould properly.
- Monofilament
- Nets, ropes, agricultural netting and artificial turf.
How to choose the grade
For HDPE, the melt flow index is measured at 190 °C with 2.16 kg or, for the more viscous grades, with 5 or 21.6 kg; always compare values measured with the same load. Also look at the density (higher density, more rigidity) and, for chemical packaging, at the ESCR.

Frequently asked questions
What is HDPE or PEAD?
It is high-density polyethylene (PEAD is the Spanish acronym): a rigid, light and very strong plastic, used in bottles, jerrycans, bags, crates, pipes and toys.
Which HDPE is used for detergent jerrycans?
A blow-moulding HDPE with very low flow and good stress crack resistance (ESCR), such as the blow-moulding grades in our catalogue.
Is HDPE suitable for food contact?
Many grades comply with Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and the FDA. We state this on each product's data sheet and can provide the manufacturer's declaration of compliance.
