Medium-density polyethylene (MDPE)
We distribute medium-density polyethylene (MDPE / PEMD) for film and rotational moulding, from Murcia to the whole of Spain.
Medium-density polyethylene (MDPE, PEMD in Spanish), with a density of 0.926 to 0.940 g/cm³, sits between low- and high-density polyethylene: more rigid than LDPE and more flexible and impact-resistant than HDPE.
It is used when that balance between rigidity and toughness is needed.
Types
- Film
- Film with more body than LDPE film, for sacks and packaging.
- Rotational moulding
- Tanks, containers and large hollow parts, usually in powder form and UV-stabilised.
How to choose the grade
Choose according to the process: for rotational moulding, a powder grade with UV stabilisation if the part will be out in the sun; for film, a low-flow grade.
Available grades
| Product | Type | Melt flow / viscosity | Process | Main use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Egyeuroptene MD 3804 | Medium-density polyethylene for rotational moulding | 4 g/10 min | Rotational moulding | Water tanks |
| LITEN FB 20 | Medium-density polyethylene for film (C4 copolymer) | 0.2 g/10 min | Blown film | Blown films above 15 µm for waste bags |
Frequently asked questions
